When my grandmother was very elderly, my mother took the time to sit with her—asking questions, listening closely, and writing down her life story. Those pages became one of the most treasured gifts in our family.

I always thought I would have the same opportunity with my mother. I imagined us sitting together, sharing memories and capturing her stories in her own words. But I never got that chance. She was gone before I could ask all the questions I wanted to ask.

HEIRLOOM began with the belief that the things we treasure shouldn't have to live only in our memories.

It started with A Personal History—a place to preserve the stories, experiences, family history, and wisdom that make a life unique. But our stories are preserved in other ways, too.
